Announcements:

• The Minnesota Department of Education has submitted the Race to the Top (RttT) application to the U.S. Department of Education. Within the application, the Minnesota Teacher Support Partnership’s work in developing guidelines is featured within the Providing Effective Support section of the application. Among many new initiatives to support induction throughout the state, the application specifically mentions the continued disemination of the Minnesota Educator Induction Guidelines.  To see the application and learn more about Minnesota’s Race to the Top proposal visit the MDE’s Race to the Top page.  The induction section starts on page 145.



• In a $40 million initiative, the Bush Foundation and 14 higher education partners will produce at least 25,000 new, highly effective teachers for Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota over the next decade.
